African Art

Here is a selection of African inspired Art that the children in the Middle Room have created.

Green School Visit

Catriona from An Taisce visited our school today. She met with the Green School Committee and gave us some recommendations for our application for the third Green Flag. We have to take water readings next week every morning and evening. She gave two presentations to the Senior and Middle Room on birds and showed us a link to a website that will teach us how to make a bird feeder.

Feed the Birds

Here is a picture of Nuala with some trusty helpers putting out nuts and seeds for the birds. We have seen blue tits, great tits, goldfinches, bullfinches and robins visiting the feeders daily.

You can also see our rain gauge that the children in the Middle Room made this morning. Every day from the 1st of February we will measure rainfall and temperature as past of the Greenwave project which charts the arrival of Spring. On Fridays we will measure wind speed with our home made anemometer.

Pruning Time

Kevin visited our school again and pruned our trees and roses to get them ready for Spring.

Thank you to all the parents and children who collected the Tesco tokens. We were able to purchase P.E. equipment, art supplies, garden implements and lots of other items. The children in the Junior Room received a pack of masks for lots of different fairy tales and are having lots of fun acting out the stories.
