CRAFTed Exhibition

The Craft Council of Ireland recently selected the felt wall hanging produced by the children in the middle classes to be put on display as part of a national “CRAFTed” exhibition in National Museum Collins Barracks, Dublin.

The exhibition will be opened by children’s minister Frances Fitzgerald on November 20th.

Ms. McGrath has secured funding  from Galway Education Centre of €250.00 and that coupled with a €100.00 award from the Discover Primary Science initiative, means that we will be able to travel by train to Dublin to attend the exhibition, visit Dublin Zoo, have a trip on the Luas and get a meal in Supermac’s for €15.00!!

Children in First to Sixth Classes will be going on this tour, which replaces the traditional summer tour this year.

Please note, the school will close at normal times on Friday 25th October for the Hallowe’en Break.

Children may wear a jersey to school on that date.  A contribution of €2.00 per child would be appreciated.  This will be donated to “Goal”.

The Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on the 12th/13th of November between 2pm and 4pm.  If you have a date or time which is inconvenient for you, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.  Appointment times can then be allocated.

The children in Junior and Senior infants went on a trip to Tuam yesterday to see the legendary Tom Chapin. He is a three time grammy award winner and his songs are a delight for young and old. We were sent a CD of his songs prior to the show and we were able to sing along to some of the songs.
